Demitasse Jewelry Fairy Absinthe Spoon

Demitasse Jewelry was established in 2006 by Los Angeles designer Rachel White. In French, Demitasse literally means half-cup; it can also refer to either a small coffee cup or black coffee served in the cup.   White’s collections are modeled after the splendor of antique silverware. In 2000, she came across an article written about flatware and felt that people had forgotten how to entertain at home with these magnificent utensils.  She wanted to bring back the intricate metalwork of these pieces to jewelry and thus her jewelry line began. Demitasse’s fine serving utensils and tableware jewelry is primarily made with gold, sapphires, and diamonds. Her collections have been featured in major publications such as Food & Wine, People, Lucky, and Cosmopolitan, among others.

Historically, Absinthe is described as a distilled alcoholic beverage that has an anise flavor. It was the alcoholic drink of the 19th century France.  Absinthe primarily has a natural green color and is commonly referred to as the Green Fairy. A sliver slotted spoon was used to dissolve sugar cubes in the absinthe to counteract its bitterness.

White’s Fairy Absinthe Spoon contains a pave diamond cut emerald to honor the Green Fairy drink. It comes in a choice of sterling silver, and 14kt gold in yellow, white or rose.  The pendant can be purchased horizontally at 16” or 18” in total length or vertically at 18”. It is such a delicate and ornate necklace that can’t be passed up. Buy the Absinthe Spoon in 16” Horizontal Sterling Silver directly through Demitasse Jewelry for $165
