London born Alexander McQueen started designing dresses for his sisters at a young age; ever since then he knew he
wanted to become a fashion designer. At 16 McQueen was offered an apprenticeship at Anderson & Shepherd and later with Gieves & Hawkes where he mastered the technical art of clothing construction. In 1994, he completed his masters in fashion design at St. Martins. His first collection was bought in its entirety by magazine editor and international style icon, Isabella Blow. A few years later, McQueen became one of the most respected fashion designers in the world. Today this fashion powerhouse designs clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories with boutiques in New York, London, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas.
