Joli Jewelry Olive Flower Basket Pin

The ideal pin should be a mix of daintiness and boldness. It’s a quick way to brighten a cardigan or jacket, and make a majestic statement. I found this look in Brooklyn designer Jody Lyons’ collection. Before she began designing jewelry, she worked at a drug rehab center, and later had her own private practice in this field. She began Joli Jewelry in 1984 after realizing that jewelry was her passion. Her designs are colorful, eclectic, and fun!

The handcrafted Olive Flower Basket Pin is elaborate in detail and has fascinating appeal. It’s made from 1930’s & 40’s deco glass, vintage plastic, and carved bone. The basket contains a bouquet of flowers and leaves adorned with colorful accents.  I adore this 2 ½” pin for its distinctive and lively design. Buy through Clay Pot for $50.

Alexis Bittar Red Amaryllis Pin

Born in my home town of Brooklyn, NY, Alexis Bittar began his jewelry career 20 years ago selling his designs on the streets of NYC. In 2004, he opened his first store in SoHo; a few blocks from where he began. His collections have become collectibles. Bittar’s clients range from Oprah Winfrey, Annette Bening to Queen Latifah.

The Red Amaryllis Pin is hand-painted in red and black and is centered with 14 silver stamens and anthers made out of diamond crystals and silver balls. The pin is made out of Lucite and is approximately 3½” in diameter. The Amaryllis plant, known as Belladonna Lily, is bell shaped and comes in various colors including red, white, pink, orange, and salmon and typically has two to six flowers per stalk. It is commonly seen during the winter season since it is a house plant. I am enthralled at how Bittar created this pin to look just like a real Amaryllis!

The bright red color gives this pin its magnetism and it looks great worn on a coat, sweater or blazer. It’s a perfect holiday gift! Buy the Red Amaryllis Pin through Amazon for $232.
