The designer behind Azaara is Josef Arzili, who is of Persian and Turkish descent. He studied design at the Fashion Institute of Hamburg, Germany. Thereafter he moved to the United States and began working as an assistant buyer for fashion emporium Bullocks Wilshire. In 1978, Arzili decided to create his own jewelry line. These handmade collections contain materials such as sterling silver, copper, crystals, along with precious and semi-precious stones. In 2006, Arzili opened the Azaara Boutique on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles, which has a vast following of celebrity clientele. Azaara has graced the pages of prominent magazines including InStyle, Town & Country, Cosmopolitan, Oprah, Marie Claire, Glamour, Lucky, and Essence.

The Swan Earrings from Azaara’s Porcelain Collection bestow vibrant colors and immense detail. These earrings contain a dainty flower that connects to a teardrop. Claudine Drescher began designing jewelry in 1999, and named her line Cousin Claudine. Drescher is the cousin of celebrity Fran Drescher, known for her work in the sitcom “The Nanny”. Arriving at a studio in Hollywood, Drew Barrymore was photographed wearing a beaded necklace from London designer Fiona Paxton. This designer is known for her original hand-embroidered necklaces and scarves. In Paxton’s spring/summer collection she has added new textures and beadwork patterns in chevron, zigzag, squares, and diamonds.

Fiona Paxton graduated from the Royal College of Art 1992.  For the next 15 years, she spent time working in New York, London, and Bangkok designing prints and embroideries for various fashion houses and retailers. And, for the last 7 years she was the Art Director of a textile design studio creating distinct patterns, graphics, and embroideries in a kaleidoscope of colors. During this time, she decided to develop her own range of jewelry pieces using artisan techniques by Indian craftsmen as her inspiration.

The Coco Necklace in Silver/Black worn by Barrymore is beyond a necklace, and more of a neckpiece!
